Rail chaos for commuters after person is hit by train in York
The incident, near York in the morning rush-hour, meant there were no services in the area for a time and delays of up to 90 minutes afterwards.
Replacement buses services operated between York and Leeds and York and Doncaster as well as “a limited bus service” between York and Hull.

Hide AdPassengers travelling with five train companies were affected - CrossCountry, East Coast, First TransPennine Express, Grand Central and Northern Rail.
The identity of the dead man is not yet known. British Transport Police said the incident was not thought to be suspicious.
A spokesman said: “Officers were called to the line close to Ploughman’s Close, Copmanthorpe, York, following a report of a man being struck by a train.
“Paramedics from Yorkshire Ambulance Service also attended the incident, which is currently being treated as non-suspicious, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.”
There were also delays this morning to London Midland services in Herefordshire after a vehicle struck a bridge at Ledbury.
