Fallen soldier remembered in his village
Greenacres Care Home at Meltham, Huddersfield wants to boost funds for the Yorkshire Regiment in memory of Private Tom Wroe, who lived in the village.
He and a Yorkshire Regiment colleague were shot dead by a rogue Afghan policeman.

Hide AdThe fund-raising day, from 2pm on Saturday October 20, is the idea of care home manager Anne Shaw who said: “Tom was from the village so it feels very personal.
“Local retailers have been so kind with donations of raffle and tombola prizes including an i-pad, vacuum, wines, chocolates and everyone has promised to bake.”
Pte Wroe’s funeral is taking place in Meltham tomorrow.
