Here are the gardens open to the public this week. Please note openings are subject to change so readers should check by phoning venues before travelling.

July 4 and 11

Hull's Avenues open gardens. More than 40 gardens raising funds for Dove House Hospice and other organisations. 1pm-5pm, Entrance programmes 3 from any house with an open garden poster on the day(s) or from many local retailers in advance. More information from 01482 785743.

Cullingworth Garden Trail. Gardens open in Cullingworth Harden and surrounding villages.Programme (4) admits two people on both days 10-30am -5pm. 01535 274391.
